Today I saw a guy using a leaf blower in lieu of a shovel. I'd hazard to guess that 70% of my co-workers chose to stay home because of the snow.
I'm with the president, D.C. needs to tough up.

Raised on hotdish and Hamm's I set out to make it in Alaska. With no survival skills, natural instincts or common sense I fought each day for survival on the streets of Anchorage's pseudo-suburbia.
I write but mostly I edit. I lurked in the digital shadows of a local news station, producing its online content. I respected the work and the job and delight in the makings of a news cycle. That didn't mean I won't occasionally have something to say about it.
I don't cringe when I find out bosses read this stuff. I do cringe when I find stupid typos they must have read.
Now, I walk among the millions in our nation's capital but I keep a close eye on the Last Frontier.
